The Catch 22 of all real estate website owners for many years has been being told by SEO experts and marketing consultants that you, the website owner, should blog regularly to make sure your website gets new content and fresh keywords to keep the search engines like Google interested in your website and to help with your website’s ranking in search results. Mostly, if you have tried this strategy or ask around the office to those who have tried you’ve probably found out in one way or another that this way produces little to nothing. In general, this lack of results for all this effort over time has lead to considerable apathy, upset and disillusion about the validity of having a website and IDX and the role that it plays in your business.
We say…SEO experts and marketing consultants, while correct in telling you to put in new content, have been telling you to put the WRONG content on your website and couldn’t be further from the truth when it comes to being useful.
If you think about it – it shouldn’t be a real surprise what you should put on your website. You don’t have to look any further than what are your real estate customers asking you to provide them. Is it home staging tips, financing tips, winterizing/weatherizing tips? Heck no that’s not what they’re asking about. What are they asking about? That’s right – they are asking for listings no matter whether they’re buying or they’re a homeowner. Buyers want listings to look at to purchase. And there isn’t a homeowner in the US who doesn’t have some interest level in getting information relevant to their home’s value.
Question is – who are they getting it from – is it you? Statistically – no it isn’t. 89% of all real estate consumers who own their home have no idea who their last real estate agents name is. Consumers resort to Zillow or Trulia or Realtor.com or the listing sign down the street to get their real estate information – you know it’s true.
Shame on real estate agents for not staying in touch. Hooray for those agents who do – or who work with a system like iFoundAgent to stay in touch with homeowners for life.
We at iFoundAgent have developed an entirely new approach to helping you satisfy Google while more importantly giving you the ability to give your leads, clients, past clients, and sphere of influence etc exactly what they want from you – listings. You have access to some of the richest real estate data possible directly through your MLS and the way we’ve designed our IDX system and your website to work together you can create massive amounts of content literally in minutes – saving you time and money and giving your clients exactly what they want.
We have designed our IDX to leverage MLS listings to improve your website’s SEO (search engine optimization). With our revolutionary IDX plugin for WordPress, we teach you to put a “search blog” on your website which allows you to create an unlimited amount of blog posts containing real estate search specific keywords while at the same time taking advantage of each time an agent submits a new listing to your MLS. Every time a new listing goes into the MLS we make sure that listing gets put onto your website – thus giving your site more content. The way we’ve designed everything, in all instances where the MLS allows us, all the text and images from all the MLS listings (for both active and closed listings) are hosted directly on your website, which gives your website a tremendous amount of content. With new content being added all the time as new listings come on the market Google and the search engines can tell that your website is constantly getting updated.
By design, you can set your site up and never touch it and get the benefit of updated content (via new listings) to at least capture Google’s attention, but if you embrace just a little bit of our strategies and do what we suggest, your website can be positioned to get just the type of web traffic you want in the areas that you want to most service. And give your clients a real estate information resource for life.
