It sounds cliche, “Now is the time!” and it’s true your contacts and clients need you and they want you – now!
They need you to keep them up to date as to what’s happening to homes in their neighborhood – what properties are selling and have sold around their home. And who they want this update from is actually you – someone they know.
You don’t need us to tell you this – what’s going on in their neighborhood points directly at the value of their home. With the stock market going crazy and interest rates tanking home values are likely to move some too – especially as we venture further in time. A new listing sign in the yard across the street from their house almost always triggers these thoughts. Personally, as the admin who wrote this communication, in the past 2 weeks I’ve seen three new listing signs in my neighborhood where I hadn’t seen any since November 2019 (it’s now March 2020) – and I’ve been darn curious what each of these homes have been listed for because they directly impact the value of my home.
What happens when they (your contact) see that listing sign? Most often we hear from agents when we ask this question is that they (your contact) go to Zillow, other agents, Redfin? Question is – where do you want them to go? You or somebody else? Your website or somebody else’s?
If you aren’t staying in touch (or you don’t have a super easy way for them to view that listing on your website), they are going to go to Zillow or someone/somewhere else.
With all of this said, what will your business look like on the other side of the Coronavirus pandemic?
We hope yours will look like you took the time to finally work on your database management – that you finally put people from your sphere into your iFoundAgent real estate marketing platform and started monthly campaigns where you are sending them active, sold and pending listings around their home. We also hope that you start seeing emails from your website showing you who is visiting your website as a result of you starting these campaigns. Once you start seeing activity now you have phone calls to make – at least you’ll start to have a choice about who to call and for what reasons.
What does getting listings from you and your website do for your contacts?
- It satisfies their need to instantly know about that new listing sign in the yard 2 doors down from their home – this makes you more valuable to them
- It gives them a place where they can look at real estate information other than Zillow, Redfin and another agent’s website – this serves them
What does it mean to you when you know your database management is handled?
- PEACE of Mind
And can’t we all use a little more of that today and into the future – forever more for the rest of your real estate career?
